TASTE EVENTS
- LAST WEEK — We welcomed Fr. Virginus Osuagwu as he gave a talk entitled "Focus on the Goodness of God and Overcome Your Anxiety." As is frequently the case with his talks, Fr. Virginus beautifully integrated scripture throughout his talk, bringing the Truth of God alive for us. He began by acknowledging the reality of anxiety, especially in our world today. We have all faced anxieties about what happened, what is happening or even what might happen. We can make a choice to redirect our attention to God. Anxiety is not a weakness, it is an invitation to deeper trust. God is calling us to refocus on who He is. What we focus on will either feed our faith or fuel our fear. God’s Goodness is unchanging in an ever changing world. Father gave us 4 practical ways to focus on the Goodness of God: 1) Remember what God has done, 2) Rest in what God has promised, 3) Rehearse the Word of God, and 4) Respond in worship. He also shared that peace is the outcome of trust - if we focus on the Goodness of God our perspective changes, our confidence changes and our hearts find rest. God’s Goodness is not a theory, it is a Truth that transforms our lives. He was good yesterday, He is good today and He will be good tomorrow. When anxiety whispers “what if,” Faith answers “Even if.” God is still good.
- NEW TALK — This week, we welcome Fr. Jude Winkler as he gives a talk entitled "Rejoice in the Lord Always: An Exhortation from the Letter to the Philippians." Please also note that Fr. Jude has a number of upcoming talks at the Shrine of St. Anthony. LINK

PRAYER REQUESTS
- Please continue to pray for our TASTE program and our speakers. This week, please pray for:
- OUR SPEAKERS AND FRIENDS OF TASTE:
- For all of our speakers — especially in thanksgiving for our last speaker and for the Holy Spirit to guide our upcoming speaker.
- For all priests — Stir up in them the grace of their vocation which is in them (Litany of Prayers for Priests)
- OUR TASTE MEMBERS AND FAMILIES:
- For the repose of the soul of Margaret Brown, sister of Helen Martin.
-
For Wendy "Cristl" Spicer, daughter of Cathy Homens, who had a brain injury and needs prayer.
- For Nancy Beckfeld, mother-in-law of Joy Parker, for peace and comfort as she receives palliative care for a brain tumor.
- For Hope Collins, granddaughter of Evelyn Collins, who is having open heart surgery on Dec. 3rd.
- For Karen Giermek’s friend, Katie M. who suffers from a chronic debilitating illness, that she receives healing so that she can fully participate in life and especially that she can enjoy her son’s wedding a few months from now.
- BEYOND OUR TASTE COMMUNITY
- For lasting peace in the Middle East and for all people caught in war-torn regions across the world—especially in Ukraine/Russia, Sudan, Myanmar, Yemen, and other areas plagued by conflict. May God protect the innocent, comfort the grieving, free all hostages, and guide leaders toward justice and lasting peaceful resolution.
- For our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering persecution for their faith around the world. We pray for their strength, courage, and protection and that they may remain steadfast and find hope in Christ even amid danger. May their witness inspire us to live our own faith more boldly and faithfully.
- We also pray for peace and comfort to the families of each of the people mentioned above. New prayer requests can be sent to Joy Parker at joyparker73@gmail.com.
Blessings,
Joy, Michele, Karen, Helen, and Lisa
Jesus, I trust in You!
