Dear Ladies and Friends of TASTE,
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
- THIS WEEK – TASTE begins our 20th season this Thursday as we welcome back our beloved Spiritual Director Fr. Larry Swink(opens in new as he gives a talk entitled "The Vision of TASTE that Marian had 20 Years Ago." Please invite a friend or two and encourage them to join us for what promises to be a wonderful year of talks and celebration.
- IN PREP — With no prior talk to discuss, small groups will meet for the first time to get to know each other. Be on the lookout for an email in a day or two with your small group assignment and facilitators' names. The Zoom small group will not meet until September 29th.
- REGISTRATION – If you have not registered yet for our new year, please go to this LINK. Also, if you know someone who wants to register, feel free to forward them that link.
- INVITE OTHERS – If you would like to invite others to join us, feel free to let them know that they may come to check it out without any pressure or commitment to register first. You may share this LINK(opens in new t as it is our typical postcard invitation.
- WEAR RED – Since we are celebrating our 20th year and remembering our founder, Marian Frentz who almost always wore red to call upon the Holy Spirit, we ask you to wear red to our first session if you can to celebrate this occasion and unite us in spirit. If you can’t, please don’t worry about it.
- PARKING –Please note that the parking lot in front of St. Mary's School has restricted access hours. We can only park there between 8:30 am and 12:00. If someone needs to stay longer for Rosary, Chaplet, Confession, to chat with friends, or any other activity, they need to move to the Keesler parking lot, but their vehicle must be out before 2:30 pm for dismissal. Other alternative parking locations include street parking and the Boys Club parking lot.
PRAYER REQUESTS
- Please continue to pray for our TASTE program and our speakers. This week, please pray for:
- OUR SPEAKERS AND FRIENDS OF TASTE:
- For all of our speakers for our 20th year, and for all those speakers who have inspired us these past 19 years!
- For all priests — Stir up in them the grace of their vocation which is in them.
- For Fr. Larry Swink (our spiritual director) as he recently had another back surgery and is dealing with back pain.
- OUR TASTE MEMBERS AND FAMILIES:
- For Debbie Schmidt who is still recovering from her knee replacement surgery.
- For Maureen Filiault's grandchild Sophia, we pray to St. Joseph for his continued protection for her.
- For Karen Giermek's mother who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
- Thanksgiving for Lisa Peacock's brother-in-law's health improvement.
- BEYOND OUR TASTE COMMUNITY
- For peace around the world, especially in the Middle East and Ukraine. May God protect the innocent, comfort the grieving, and guide leaders toward justice and a lasting peaceful resolution.
- Specifically for the War in Iran, grant wisdom to our leaders, safety for our troops and our allies, liberation and safety for the people of Iran, and healing for those who mourn.
- For our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering persecution for their faith around the world, especially in Nigeria, Cameroon, and Sudan.
- For St. Vincent Pallotti High School, for blessings for their faculty, teachers, students and families in gratitude for their generosity to TASTE.
