TASTE EVENTS

  • LAST WEEK — We welcomed  Sr. Dede Byrne as she gave a talk entitled "Mary’s Message for Eternal Life." Sr. Dede focused us on things eternal, especially the reality of hell, and what we can do for ourselves and our loved ones to get to heaven with the Blessed Mother as our guide. Mothers know their children best. And who knows our needs best but THE Mother of God? Sister challenged us to think of Hell in addition to Heaven when we think of things eternal. As there is Eternal Life, so there is Eternal Death. Our mission is to prepare our souls for heaven as well as to help guide our loved ones to prepare them for eternity with our Lord. The humble key is Confession and the Eucharist. The greatest consoler of our hearts, next to our Lord, is Our Blessed Mother. We must understand that her message is both a promise and a warning, because nowadays, all we hear of is God's love and Mercy. And though we can never overstate God's love and Mercy, we must also keep in mind that His justice is as everlasting as His love. So, what does this mean for all of us? We must speak Truth with Love. Many of us have loved ones steeped in sin, and they are not repenting because we, as a society, are rewriting our moral laws to leave God entirely out. And they may not know anyone loving enough to speak truth for fear of anger or rejection. These seem like dark times, and they are. But our Lord tells us to never lose hope. These times are challenging, but they are also exciting, as there are opportunities for new heroes and saints to emerge, people who overcome fear to speak Truth with love regardless of the cost. Where there is darkness, our little flicker of Light shines all the more. Our Blessed Mother is our model of purity and humility, and she comes with the fervent desire to bring all souls to her Son. So, our mission here on earth is quite simple.(1) It is to use the graces God gives us to save our souls. And (2) bring as many with us as possible. We follow Our Blessed Motherly instructions and encouragement to stay pure by frequent Confession, Adoration, Mass, and the Rosary. Our Blessed Mother's powerful message of sacrifice and prayer to save souls for eternity with God is ultimately a message of Hope.
