Dear Ladies and Friends of TASTE,

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

  • THIS WEEK —  TASTE continues with our 18th season this week with a talk by Gina Witt. Invite a friend!
  • IN PREP — The video, written summary, reflection questions, and other related material from last week's talk can be found HERE.
  • IN REMEMBRANCE OF MARIAN FRENTZ — It’s so hard to believe that our beloved foundress, Marian Frentz, has been gone for 7 years as of Tuesday, January 21st. For those of us who had the privilege to know Marian, we will forever remember her zeal for the Lord and all things Catholic, her exuberant joy, her big hugs, and the love and generosity with which she ministered to all of us through the TASTE program. If you didn’t meet Marian personally, we would love to share more about her with you HERE. Please remember Marian in your prayers this week and pray for all who loved her.
  • SNOW POLICY —  With more snow and bitter cold expected this week, please review our inclement weather policy HERE.

TASTE EVENTS

  • LAST TALK — We welcomed back Msgr. Charles Pope as he gave a talk entitled "Behold I Make All Things New." During this talk, he explored with us what a “normal” Christian Life might be. There is great power to be found in the words of scripture and in the words of the liturgy, but many times we have gotten so used to hearing them that we don’t really take them in, nor do we ponder deeply what they are telling us about Christ, and the life-changing transformative relationship that awaits us. Many of us have low expectations of our relationship with the Lord, in part because we have not been told to expect much. If we look at the scriptures in the early church in the Acts of the Apostles, people were powerfully aware that the Lord had touched their lives, and that their lives were different, not sin free, but different, more hopeful. Msgr. Pope questions if many Catholics and Christians feel that way today. Do we? We often hear the words at Mass in the scripture readings, or in the liturgy and they go in one ear and out the other. What happens if we truly listen and ponder what we are hearing? Msgr. Pope invited us to explore several passages from scripture and from the liturgy, and let them transform our lives and our relationship with Christ.... MORE.
  • NEW TALK — This week, we welcome Gina Witt as she gives a talk entitled "Perfect Love Casts Out All Fear."
