Dear Ladies and Friends of TASTE,
- ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
- This week, we will have our brown bag lunch. Please bring your lunch so that we can socialize together after our meeting.
- Also this week and in the spirit of Laetare Sunday, Deacon Jim suggested that we all wear pink/rose. Let’s surprise him by having so many of our women do just that.
- This week, TASTE continues to meet at the Pallotti Chapel. Our speaker is once again Deacon Jim Munno as he continues our Lenten Series "Draw Close to God and He Will Draw Close to You (James 4:8); Talk entitled "Rejoice."
- Small group discussions will be in person on Thursday based on Reflection Questions and other material found HERE. The Zoom small group continues to meet on Tuesday mornings (ZOOM).
- OPENING — This week, we will be celebrating both St. Patrick (March 17) and St. Joseph (March 19). Given that we talked about both in last year’s email, we thought we’d address another topic. Two days after Deacon Jim Munno’s talk on ”Detesting Your Sins," EWTN’s HOMILY seemed to reinforce so many of his same points using the parable of the prodigal son. HOMILY HIGHLIGHTS.
- LAST WEEK — We welcomed back Deacon Jim Munno as he continued our Lenten series "Draw Close to God and He Will Draw Close to You" (James 4:8), with a talk entitled "Detest Your Sins." Deacon Jim gave an impassioned talk - he knows how much is at stake in this talk because sin just wants to drag us away from the love of God. After spending the first weeks learning how we can turn to God through repentance and conversion, we learned how we turn away from God through sin. All sin, including venial sin, is an affront to God. Our venial sins always have as their root some mortal sin. All sin is opposed to one or more Theological and/or Cardinal Virtue. And so, we learn to detest our sins, all of them. MORE
- NEW TALK — This week, we welcome back Deacon Jim Munno as he continues our Lenten series with a talk entitled "Rejoice."
- THIS WEEK'S DISCUSSION — We will discuss Deacon Jim Munno's talk entitled "Detest Your Sins." The audio, video, reflection questions, and other related material can be found HERE. The Tuesday Zoom Small Group will continue to meet as well via ZOOM.
