December 12, 2021

Dear Ladies and Friends of TASTE,
  • We just completed our 11 talks for this 1st semester of the 2021/2022 Season.  Hasn't that time just flown by!  We hope you have enjoyed these talks and were able to glean some good take-aways from each.  For the next few weeks, we will be on our Christmas break and will return on January 13th.  We pray that you and your family have a Blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.  When we return, we will have 15 talks before our concluding talk on May 5th.  Please feel free to invite others.
  • This past week, Sister Mary Michael Fox gave our final talk before the Christmas break entitled "Jesus, the Prince of Peace."  She started by asking “What is Peace” and “How do we get it?” She began answering these questions by reading various scriptural passages where God speaks of Peace and also by quoting St. Augustine — “Peace is tranquility from order."  For most of the rest of the talk, she elaborated on St. Thomas’ three areas of order: 1) Order within myself, 2) Order between me and God, and 3) Order between me and my neighbor.  We have tried to capture many of the gems she mentioned HERE including her scripture passages, quotes, practical advice, book recommendations, and songs.  Given the breadth of the wisdom she imparted in this talk, this talk is clearly worth listening to again and again and sharing it with others.

 THIS WEEK AT TASTE

  • NEW TALK  There will not be a talk this week. Our next talk will be in the new year on January 13.
  • THIS WEEK'S DISCUSSION — No small group either until January 13 when we will discuss Sister Mary Michael Fox's talk "Jesus, the Prince of Peace." EXCEPT the Tuesday virtual small group will meet one final time on December 14 at 10:30 via Zoom. For details on how to participate, see the link under "Continued Reminders: Logistics."

    • Our spiritual director, Fr. Larry Swink as well as all of the priests in the Baltimore and Washington Archdioceses, especially those of whom you may have spiritually adopted.
    • Our speakers — especially: 1) Theresa Bonapartis for healing of her back, 2) Susan Conroy for her health, 3) Sr. Mary Michael Fox, first for the peace of Christ to be with her and her family as her dear sister Chris draws closer to her time of going home to be with our Lord and second that the editing process for her new book goes smoothly, and 4) Colleen Duggan and her baby, who the doctors are saying has a 90% chance of having Downs syndrome.
    • Supreme Court Justices  Please let us all pray today for wisdom, strength, and courage for our Supreme Court Justices and for Life to be victorious.  Note that we will not know a decision most likely until June). This NEW VIDEO is an insightful explanation of the abortion issue in law.
