Dear Ladies and Friends of TASTE,
  • Happy Feast of the Assumption!
  • Please see important note about Susan Conroy below.
  • Preparations are well underway for the fall semester.
    • Our Speaker Committee has been developing an awesome Speaker Line-up for the 2021/2022 year.  As mentioned in our last email, Msgr. Charles Pope will kick off our first session on September 23.  To see the current set of returning and new speaker pictures and bios, click HERE.
    • Our Communications Committee has been actively advertising the start of the 2021/2022 year.  Bulletin announcements have been sent to over 100 churches and our new Annual Poster and Invitation Postcard are now available HERE.  We are looking to get one of these visuals into electronic bulletins and/or Parish Email Flocknotes.
    • We have also been revamping our website and would like to introduce you to a new link that allows our women to easily view and listen to TASTE talks by Academic Year - LINK.  While many talks are now uploaded, we are working to get the remaining talks available on the web.
    • Please continue to pray for our TASTE program in general, and specifically for our speakers, our ability to provide baby-sitting, and that meeting at Pallotti continues to be a viable option.
    • To help us plan for this upcoming semester, please register using this LINK.
    • We encourage you to invite a friend regardless of where they are on their faith journey.  If they are interested, please also encourage them to register.  Attached is a postcard that you can text, email, or print as an invitation to others.
  • Other Notes:
    • It is with a heavy heart that we share that one of our regular speakers and our dear friend, Susan Conroy, has been diagnosed with cancer. She had to have major surgery and her doctor also wants her to receive very strong chemotherapy for which she's prayerfully discerning.  As you would expect, she is surrendering herself to Our Loving Lord and in her words, “snuggling very close to Our Lady of Sorrows.” That said, this has been a difficult time for her physically, emotionally, and financially.  Please lift her up to Our Lord Jesus and Our Blessed Mother Mary, asking Them to comfort and heal her.    If you would like your prayer for Susan to be added to our spiritual bouquet, please reply to this email with the specific prayer(s) you are offering.   Should you want to offer a donation for her, checks can be made out to TASTE with "Susan Conroy" in the memo line and mailed to TASTE c/o Joy Parker, 12649 W Oak Drive, Mount Airy, MD 21771.
    • During Mike Tenney's  Lenten series talks, we learned that he began a ministry called "Pop Culture Catholicism," which ties the aspects of living our faith to the music and movies that impact the world around us.  Mike has just completed his first year in this ministry and is looking to expand it this upcoming year.  If you know anyone (to include yourself) who loves music and might benefit from his ministry, please check out his website LINK and/or pass it along.
    • We are so pleased to let you know that one of our own, Maryella Hierholzer, continues to publish articles in the National Catholic Register.  See her most recent articles:
  • We so look forward to seeing each and every one of you soon!  Stay safe.
Blessings,
Joy, Michele, Carolyn, and Karen
Jesus, I trust in You!
