This
cookbook has a little bio of each saint paired with a recipe. It's
done in such a wonderful way. One of my favorites is Blessed Margaret
Costello. She was a deformed child who was adopted by a loving couple
after she was taken to a shine and not healed. This couple loved her but
the town's people did not like her at first. Eventually they came to
love her. She is paired with Spinach Balls. Spinach is not a vegetable
liked by most children but once the kids try these, they'll love them! What a great way to remember little Margaret! There is also an action item following each saint's bio as a way to imitate them for the week.

Saints are holy men and women, boys and girls, that have led exemplary lives of virtue. They put God first in every situation and are now living with Him in heaven. We are all called to be saints and by learning about their ways and what they did to attain holiness, we too can learn to love God as they did. Finding good wholesome role models in this wonderful cookbook helps families grow in holiness. Recipes For Life makes a wonderful gift!
"Happy are all who fear the LORD, who walk in the ways of God." Psa. 128:1
"We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose." Rom. 8:28

You work hard at creating a feast and then you get to enjoy it. Children
are young for such a very small time. Cherish them, nurture them,
guide them and bring them up with the love of God. Endorsements "This cookbook is filled with great recipes and stories of saints that we can imitate. I look forward to sharing them with my family members and friends." ~ Most Reverend Martin D. Holley, Auxillary Bishop of Washington, DC. "Culture begins in the home, and these recipes shared from a wealth of kitchens will weave another generation into the precious memories and relationships that have gone before us. Eat heartily -- and remember that every little feast foreshadows the Everlasting Banquet to which we're all invited!" ~ Genevieve Kineke, Author, The Authentic Catholic Woman, wife and mother of five. "When you cook with the saints, as this book allows you to do, you are feeding both body and soul. I heartily endorse this book and its approach. Enjoy!" ~ Mary Suarez Hamm, Executive Director, Centro Tepeyac, wife and mother of twelve. Available for immediate delivery. As you look at the cover of Recipes for Life notice the Monstrance. Look inside and see Mary looking at Jesus with the love of a mother. Now look at the mother on the cover. She too is looking at her child with a mother's love. What a beautiful tribute to Motherhood! | |
